seriously, what would i do...?

Happy Tuesday!  I hope everybody's week is off to a great start.  I have a really long week in front of me...I work 24-hour shifts, but I'm taking a class everyday from 8-5ish through Saturday.  But on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, I go into work after class and work til' the next morning...then back to class.  Fun, huh?!?  Oh, well...ya gotta do whatcha gotta do!  Anyway, I am so in love with today's card.  Unfortunately, the color challenge I used from Color Throwdown already ended, so I can't link this guy up there.  But there are still plenty of other challenges to play along with.  I used this Deconstructed Sketch:

I liked this sketch as soon as I saw it, but it took awhile of looking at it before it finally clicked.  Then it hit me...the perfect mother's day card!  Luckily, my mom doesn't look at my blog, so I feel safe posting it here even with a few days left until I give it to her.  Ok, on to the paper yummies:

This was actually the first card I made using this color challenge.  I made a second card, but posted that one first.  I know I've already said this, but I just love these colors together!  So yummy, and versatile!  I started off with these adorable birdies from the Unity Stamps "Garden Variety" set.  The momma bird is actually a separate stamp from the 3 little chicks, but I HAD to use them together.  And in order to make them all fit on my die cut shape, I had to mask and use my Stamp-a-ma-jig and stamp each one separately. Then I paper-pieced them with that cute yellow dot paper.  The "mom" is from the Paper Smooches Pretty Momma set, and the word bubble is Hero Arts.  The word bubble stamp actually faces the other direction, and I don't have the right ink to do mirrored stamping.  So, I masked the part of the bubble that comes down and the portion of the bubble where I wanted that part to come down, then filled in the gaps with a black pen.  I LOVE the way that last lil' chick looks like he's running to catch up, so I wanted him to be the one yelling "mom!":

The sentiment at the bottom of the card is also Hero Arts, from the "Thank you for being my friend" set.  I thought this particular sentiment was also perfect for a mom. And since I'm one of three kids in my family, this just worked well all the way around.  I LOVE IT!!!
