I hope everybody had a great week. I'm here today with this week's <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays</a> challenge. This week's challenge is especially near to my heart, because this is my last challenge as a Girl Friday. :..( I have SO enjoyed being on this design team for a multitude of reasons. One, it was my first ever design team "gig", so it'll always be extra special to me. And I felt so honored to be part of such a wonderfully talented team. I mean, these girls do CAS like nobody's business. For reals. And the players are so talented too! But mostly, I enjoyed being on this team because<a href="http://cas-ualfridaysstamps.blogspot.com/"> Michele</a> is so wonderful to work for. She's got it together! Ladies, if you ever get the chance to become a member of her design team, DO IT! I will really miss being a Girl Friday. But...I do have some very happy news! (And commenter <a href="http://huhsothisisablog.blogspot.com/">JanR.</a> guessed my secret last week, so she will be getting a little something special from me.) What is the secret, you ask? Drum roll please..................I'M HAVING A BABY! Yep, I'm pregnant with my first baby, and we could not be more excited! For another chance to win a little prize from me, leave a comment guessing when my due date is. The first person to guess it or come closest will be the winner. Okay okay, less talky, more <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays</a> challenge. That<em> is</em> what you came here for, right? Ok, check it:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
And the sponsor for this week's challenge is the wonderful <a href="http://www.ellenhutson.com/servlet/StoreFront">Ellen Hutson</a>. The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to spend <a href="http://www.ellenhutson.com/servlet/StoreFront">here</a>. YAY!<br />

<br />
Okay, so when I first thought about what to make for this challenge, my mind immediately went to the <a href="http://unitystampco.com/shop/happy-pinwheels/">Happy Pinwheels</a> stamp set from Unity Stamps and Simple Stories. This set not only has these super cute pinwheels, but it also has a bunch of cute little sentiment flags, perfect for this paper yummy:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiAPh08LQz6WAao_iFF90REkfpfc29O2Ozfpd9KXJeSuG3qUBExLijXiD4NEZ8rt7KWd_fEv2gXKdAuP7YGMY0KAFkCsmKCHuiG7AVmXxrfnHs_WzeUGViZPtJvfiwUOs9D4nQGbpTIHA/s1600/celebrate+pinwheels.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiAPh08LQz6WAao_iFF90REkfpfc29O2Ozfpd9KXJeSuG3qUBExLijXiD4NEZ8rt7KWd_fEv2gXKdAuP7YGMY0KAFkCsmKCHuiG7AVmXxrfnHs_WzeUGViZPtJvfiwUOs9D4nQGbpTIHA/s640/celebrate+pinwheels.jpg" width="514" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This card came together pretty darn quickly. Two stamps, some paper-piecing, and a couple of buttons, and BAM! Done! Here's a close-up:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I can't believe it's already going to be June. This year is just flying by so far! I hope the rest of the year does too, because I have a very special visitor coming in November. Rather than come right out and say it, let's see who can read between the lines and guess what I'm talking about (leave a comment with your guess and I'll send the first correct commenter a little prize). I can tell you that congratulations will certainly be in order. And speaking of congratulations, let's check out this week's <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays</a> challenge:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/407350579/name/cfc103.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="86" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/407350579/name/cfc103.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The sponsor for this week's challenge is <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/main.sc">CAS-ual Fridays Stamps</a>. The winner will receive the stamp set of her choice from <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/main.sc">the store</a>! Woot woot!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/1144671374/name/CFS+Blog+Button.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/1144671374/name/CFS+Blog+Button.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Maybe I've been working around too many guys at the fire department, but instead of using the actual word "congratulations" on my card, I chose this sentiment for my paper yummy:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGzB2P6m_BXGdTow_-UtIRWiIYwN0cz2eyQtzp6wf3DZ3XOb9DCOWZ7Nce9Kifr8LNMcmtNrd2RhlAzLdJ1H8oZQ9-2BjVCs5zyaFkqsWl8U-Ym_Sl5XIr3JBME50i_zWlR_bJpNDmc5Q/s1600/high+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="680" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGzB2P6m_BXGdTow_-UtIRWiIYwN0cz2eyQtzp6wf3DZ3XOb9DCOWZ7Nce9Kifr8LNMcmtNrd2RhlAzLdJ1H8oZQ9-2BjVCs5zyaFkqsWl8U-Ym_Sl5XIr3JBME50i_zWlR_bJpNDmc5Q/s640/high+5.jpg" width="540" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Giving high-five is synonymous with congratulations (at least on my crew) so I figured that would suffice for a card too. I combined the high 5 stamp with the circle border stamp from the <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/Woot-Woot-CFSS-12-002.htm">Woot Woot</a> set, then placed Rain Dots in the centers of the circles. Here's a close-up:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinLXrHJ1oTyow7A978824w9aboEz_f8BXenMTXy1VOg6BjvHM4Q0uvT5jrJCGbUx1VD5gGnBh7tg6tKPeFiqE7eIZDt8kTJXJ_ZLR5g2Jr3AJQv5tfoDgHtB6tEKkf5MKURRAOmbsaVx0/s1600/high+5+close-up2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinLXrHJ1oTyow7A978824w9aboEz_f8BXenMTXy1VOg6BjvHM4Q0uvT5jrJCGbUx1VD5gGnBh7tg6tKPeFiqE7eIZDt8kTJXJ_ZLR5g2Jr3AJQv5tfoDgHtB6tEKkf5MKURRAOmbsaVx0/s640/high+5+close-up2.jpg" width="540" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
I hope you'll play along with this week's challenge. You have until next Thursday at noon EST to do so. Thanks so much for looking!<br />

I hope everybody has had a great week and is ready for the holiday weekend (at least in the US). I, for one, could use a 3-day weekend. And in honor of this commemoration, we're having a special challenge at <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays</a>! Check it:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/731315468/name/cfc102.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="86" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/731315468/name/cfc102.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">CFC102: Red, white & blue</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Incorporate red, white, and blue into your clean and simple project.</span></div>
<br />
And the sponsor for this week's challenge is the fabulous <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/">Simon Says Stamp.</a> The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to spend in the <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/">store</a>!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/1315295565/name/SimonSaysStamp_160x240.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/1315295565/name/SimonSaysStamp_160x240.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
While it wasn't specifically part of the challenge to create something patriotic or fit for military personnel, my mind went straight to the Paper Smooches <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/Circle_Of_Honor_p/m2s-12-099.htm">Circle of Honor</a> stamp set, and I couldn't NOT go that route. And now for the paper yummies:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9j0Kz69pCK6KZiVZx_vhMN9-ANTuvL_7T05XGcIf8bT6hFY3t_EaRktxApB3poAywdkKdfXNwqYKbUnKngxa8-dWYHD1x5MdVzTilomPlvHKh6tojDQQDbXbmvYp8mjCQJxmA_m_eQIo/s1600/thanks+for+your+service.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9j0Kz69pCK6KZiVZx_vhMN9-ANTuvL_7T05XGcIf8bT6hFY3t_EaRktxApB3poAywdkKdfXNwqYKbUnKngxa8-dWYHD1x5MdVzTilomPlvHKh6tojDQQDbXbmvYp8mjCQJxmA_m_eQIo/s640/thanks+for+your+service.jpg" width="506" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First I stamped the sentiment using two different colors of Memento ink and some masking, then placed the stars around the sentiment in a diagonal cascading pattern. I offset the star outline and stamped it in the opposite ink color for a fun look, then placed a rhinestone in the center of each one. Here is a close-up:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This week's sponsor is <a href="http://www.ellenhutson.com/servlet/StoreFront">Ellen Hutson</a>, who will award the winner a $25 gift certificate to spend <a href="http://www.ellenhutson.com/servlet/StoreFront">here</a>.<br />

Okay, so for this challenge I made a card that fits two of the rows on the tic tac toe board. Plus bling. Had I included embossing, it would've fit three of the rows. LOL. And now for the paper yummies:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNWgO_PKqCNZW9pxJSZ5WjWAp8JIwYiQreXX9GEFrKXrTKeXB3Vx0xCzx-J1OAcpLzTttqkcUnG6aZqX5VtA-_CgS8CpqVkRZqMrJC1Oycl2VVy7P-hpFp1v4jdo93WvgX0d6RH2BDOBc/s1600/absolutely.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="540" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNWgO_PKqCNZW9pxJSZ5WjWAp8JIwYiQreXX9GEFrKXrTKeXB3Vx0xCzx-J1OAcpLzTttqkcUnG6aZqX5VtA-_CgS8CpqVkRZqMrJC1Oycl2VVy7P-hpFp1v4jdo93WvgX0d6RH2BDOBc/s640/absolutely.JPG" width="540" /></a></div>
Sorry about the caca photo - I couldn't find the right lighting. In real life, the "ABSOLUTELY" die cut looks a lot more crisp and shows up better against the gingham patterned paper. Oh well, you get the idea. I've had this die for at least 6 months, but this was my first time using it. I don't really know why, 'cause I LOVE it! I used a corrugated kraft card base and October Afternoon patterned papers, including the flower grouping, which I fussy-cut from a paper. The die and stamp are from <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/the-48946/absolutely-on-the-edge/Detail">this Simon Says Stamp set</a>. Add some bling, and voila! Here are some close-ups:<br />

Oh yeah, by the way, I used the top row of the tic tac toe board (polka dots, kraft, and dies), and the card also fits the left column (polka dots, square card, and birthday). Plus the bling square. Which row tickles your fancy? Play along as many times as you like for this special 2-week challenge! Thanks so much for looking!<br />

This card came together pretty quickly. I used several patterned papers from Crate Paper along with stamps from the <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/searchquick-submit.sc?keywords=rad">Rad</a> and <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/Woot-Woot-CFSS-12-002.htm">Woot Woot</a> sets. I'm here today with a fun new challenge from <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays</a>! Check it:<br />

<br /></div>
And the sponsor for this week's challenge is the wonderful <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/St">Simon Says Stamp</a>. The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to spend in the <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/St">Simon store</a>. Awesome!<br />

<br />
For this week's card, I used one color of Stickles glitter glue over three different colored inks to create this paper yummy:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfHM4tzUsvYByIi_d5WwwURlBi078u72d1Oa7ci-hvsV1ahq8pBnObNEgTqAxBv4kIYbyo4RtYBHspJn9C0qvJbdyXUkhBppswEoPjVVZaeRnnfnXRRSvjMESA65k6CyRxnG2zGdWtFL0/s1600/hello+butterflies.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="650" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfHM4tzUsvYByIi_d5WwwURlBi078u72d1Oa7ci-hvsV1ahq8pBnObNEgTqAxBv4kIYbyo4RtYBHspJn9C0qvJbdyXUkhBppswEoPjVVZaeRnnfnXRRSvjMESA65k6CyRxnG2zGdWtFL0/s640/hello+butterflies.JPG" width="540" /></a></div>
<br />
I started by stamping the solid butterfly from the Paper Smooches <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/Flap_Happy_p/des-12-126.htm">Flap Happy</a> set in three different colors of Memento ink. Then I added the dotted "trail" and the antennae in the same ink color. I stamped the sentiment in black ink, then applied Diamond Stickles over the trails and the butterflies. Diamond has got to be my favorite color of Stickles, because it takes on the color of whatever is underneath it and is very versatile. Here's a close-up:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwo3xqSHOstKx7Hjbg3omtrFXSr7zg1Sf6iKLhORKPY8Q_UUe06FRXu0XMODJNU4-709xQW9PTJT4jkwykkLbaGm7farFDZLy_EwtGbnEOAkZWEHYwWDeszH4Hk5PgDmuDYcBToQY6TlY/s1600/hello+butterflies+close-up.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="354" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwo3xqSHOstKx7Hjbg3omtrFXSr7zg1Sf6iKLhORKPY8Q_UUe06FRXu0XMODJNU4-709xQW9PTJT4jkwykkLbaGm7farFDZLy_EwtGbnEOAkZWEHYwWDeszH4Hk5PgDmuDYcBToQY6TlY/s640/hello+butterflies+close-up.JPG" width="540" /></a></div>

I hope you'll play along with this week's challenge. You have until next Thursday at noon EST to do so. Thanks so much for looking!<br />

I hope everybody had a lovely Easter. We went over to some friends' house and had such a great time, eating yummy food, dying eggs, hunting eggs, eating more yummy food...it was a lot of fun! Today I'm here with this week's challenge from <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays</a>!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/1163095681/name/cfc97.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="86" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/1163095681/name/cfc97.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">CFC97: Use both chevrons and flowers in your clean and simple project.</span></div>
<br />
And this week's challenge is sponsored by the oh-so-fabulous <a href="http://www.ellenhutson.com/servlet/Store">Ellen Hutson</a>! The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to spend <a href="http://www.ellenhutson.com/servlet/Store">here</a>.<br />

<br />
I love both of the design elements required for this week's card, so it was super easy to create this paper yummy:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-L8AuqB_J-Glz-ZngopOhIzmUQxiJnm0CJsfVMPZ0fGuIfxDoDV0HgniX4rZUBF1PfDP8LFaXmporsbeDSbWTqjTuqqqSuLpDwxH28RvAbDQH35slU3lUldafLNBcSJ48KzbOdOLINA0/s1600/thankful+for+you.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="422" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-L8AuqB_J-Glz-ZngopOhIzmUQxiJnm0CJsfVMPZ0fGuIfxDoDV0HgniX4rZUBF1PfDP8LFaXmporsbeDSbWTqjTuqqqSuLpDwxH28RvAbDQH35slU3lUldafLNBcSJ48KzbOdOLINA0/s640/thankful+for+you.JPG" width="540" /></a></div>
<br />
This card came together really quickly, which doesn't happen too often 'round here. I used a shaped card base by Basic Grey (which already had that cool chevron pattern on it!), and paired it with a big chipboard flower and alpha stickers also by Basic Grey. The two banner stamps are from <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/the-49015/Simon-Says-Clear-Stamps/Detail">this stamp set by Kelly Purkey and Simon Says Stamp</a>. I stamped them on a piece of plain white cardstock, then distressed it to better match the chipboard piece. Here's a close-up:<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/100563256/name/cfc96.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="86" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/100563256/name/cfc96.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">CFC96: Create an Easter-themed project with a twist: NO CARDS ALLOWED</span>.</div>
<br />
And the sponsor for this week's challenge is <a href="http://www.bellacreationz.bigcartel.com/">Timeless Twine</a>. The challenge winner will receive a fantastic twine prize pack from their <a href="http://www.bellacreationz.bigcartel.com/">store</a>!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/2023556780/name/TimelessTwine02-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/2023556780/name/TimelessTwine02-1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
For this week's challenge, I made a super cute and ridiculously simple Easter treat pouch. Who wouldn't love to receive some delicious candy in this paper yummy?:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIHWmYG4BT30nsMLxWP1W6pcObuUsII708YA8PqK0QmF9HyBjlCXV-iuPJeOMU-6ljzNMFrt2g8WuIoy5j5GPUFyXjENK8cOolG5WlkSJ3n8Ox12byL9Q_HUh0QPG-_CFEp2vRQnDLZ7I/s1600/joyous+easter.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="380" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIHWmYG4BT30nsMLxWP1W6pcObuUsII708YA8PqK0QmF9HyBjlCXV-iuPJeOMU-6ljzNMFrt2g8WuIoy5j5GPUFyXjENK8cOolG5WlkSJ3n8Ox12byL9Q_HUh0QPG-_CFEp2vRQnDLZ7I/s640/joyous+easter.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Like I said, these little treat pouches (aka "sour cream containers" because they resemble the little pouch of sour cream you get sometimes with a baked potato) are so simple to make. For this size, I used a 6" x 6" piece of patterned paper, but you can use other sizes as well, depending on the thickness and rigidity of your paper. Check it: put adhesive on 3 edges of the back of your paper, then roll it to look like a toilet paper roll with exposed adhesive inside the top and bottom edges. Press the bottom closed, and crimp it. Fill it with candy. Press the top closed, perpendicular to the bottom edge, and crimp it. Done! Just add embellishments to your liking. I made a tag and attached it with baker's twine:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfEL5vesmcCFmSGXIdPVLQ3m4OT-XdIMH9H5CZSKBZ0kymkWRYwD4z3faO8VzsMr26BR0GLVu-8mXqsHpdqLQC_sKmrakU2E1ECviA1vlr-oPnL9kpRY9OK9NsNPMeO3JwPI93g1UqrXo/s1600/joyous+easter+view+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="390" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfEL5vesmcCFmSGXIdPVLQ3m4OT-XdIMH9H5CZSKBZ0kymkWRYwD4z3faO8VzsMr26BR0GLVu-8mXqsHpdqLQC_sKmrakU2E1ECviA1vlr-oPnL9kpRY9OK9NsNPMeO3JwPI93g1UqrXo/s640/joyous+easter+view+2.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And here's a close-up of the tag:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It's so crazy to me to think that it's already March 22. Wow, time flies! I'm here today with a new challenge from <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays</a>, and it's a doozy:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/2001864341/name/cfc95.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="86" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/2001864341/name/cfc95.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">CFC95: You may use s<span style="background-color: white; line-height: 16px;">tickers, die cuts, pattern paper...but NO STAMPS in your clean and simple project</span></span></div>
<br />
And the sponsor for this week's challenge is the fabulous <a href="http://www.srmpress.com/">SRM Stickers</a>. The winner of this week's challenge will win an awesome prize package, full of all sorts of sticker goodies!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/1469380442/name/srm+stickers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/1469380442/name/srm+stickers.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
For this week's card, I used an SRM sticker along with some die cuts and patterned paper to create this paper yummy:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjev1CYcA23sIpcqMlxPjtYrGoKBI3b51MvavnXYik2fEKlSYMUYOGbOqyBXqO9b1iEDzi7kgT82CxLLh_r_cKBzX_oNTGu9KPKT8cQwt_z3D8io3KAl_WrIB3A_ePVx4bczXtO2WggpPE/s1600/happy+day.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjev1CYcA23sIpcqMlxPjtYrGoKBI3b51MvavnXYik2fEKlSYMUYOGbOqyBXqO9b1iEDzi7kgT82CxLLh_r_cKBzX_oNTGu9KPKT8cQwt_z3D8io3KAl_WrIB3A_ePVx4bczXtO2WggpPE/s640/happy+day.JPG" width="518" /></a></div>
The bird and speech bubble are a die cut, as well as the clear plastic banner with the orange border. Both are from Basic Grey. The banner worked perfectly with a sticker strip from SRM, because both are clear and they fit together so nicely! I adhered the sentiment sticker onto the paper die cut, then used Glossy Accents to adhere the plastic die-cut banner over the top. I added some white dashed lines around the bottom edge of the die cut, then layered it onto some cute chevron patterned paper by My Mind's Eye. Easy peasy! Here's a close-up:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpgEt8fu4URz1ox8Xi2oHhZvaDGIfeKgXBuZLKZaES1rz0DszQ-mUFjxpyjXypo_qp0uQt3UlfU3jVwZH72oLOm7qIwjIX8K8B2-IYExi67dNkc_JX34I7rkNccjM1cc_s3PB7A0zG5WQ/s1600/happy+day+close-up.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="344" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpgEt8fu4URz1ox8Xi2oHhZvaDGIfeKgXBuZLKZaES1rz0DszQ-mUFjxpyjXypo_qp0uQt3UlfU3jVwZH72oLOm7qIwjIX8K8B2-IYExi67dNkc_JX34I7rkNccjM1cc_s3PB7A0zG5WQ/s640/happy+day+close-up.JPG" width="518" /></a></div>
I hope you'll resist the urge to use stamps, and play along with this week's challenge! You have until next Thursday at noon EST to do so. Thanks so much for looking!<br />

I'm so so sorry that this post is just now going live. It appears as though Blogger ate my original post (HATE it when that happens!!), and I'm at work today so I haven't been able to re-create this post until now. Oh well...whaddya gonna do?!? On to the fun stuff...how about a fun new challenge from <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays</a>?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/661114842/name/cfc94.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="86" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/661114842/name/cfc94.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">CFC94: Use chipboard in your clean and simple project</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
And the sponsor for this week's challenge is <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/">CAS-ual Fridays Stamps</a>! The winner of this challenge will receive a $20 gift certificate to spend <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/">here</a>. YAY!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/2019011653/name/CFS+Blog+Button.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/2019011653/name/CFS+Blog+Button.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
So for this week's challenge, I wanted to use some giant glittery chipboard letters that I've had for years, and find somewhat difficult to use simply due to their size. But they worked perfectly for this paper yummy:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAd7EQeSL_crv6vYg-E5zI9Mpg4_vTka3lfN3yHQjBxng5w_J4uNLnn-OE6hQZs0hRkY6P0BjtFa5iJttpb5LkFSk-EfJDYR4I0VwqhPjNPtstMbi-QRdVRIDTwWRrAZZRJIExakTmimU/s1600/hb.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="660" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAd7EQeSL_crv6vYg-E5zI9Mpg4_vTka3lfN3yHQjBxng5w_J4uNLnn-OE6hQZs0hRkY6P0BjtFa5iJttpb5LkFSk-EfJDYR4I0VwqhPjNPtstMbi-QRdVRIDTwWRrAZZRJIExakTmimU/s640/hb.JPG" width="540" /></a></div>
<br />
The base of this card is actually a frosted report cover from an office supply store. I love that it's frosted, so it's somewhat similar to a clear acetate card, without the glossy finish and potential for fingerprints. Yet, it's transparent enough that the stamped "happy birthday" sentiment shows through the card even though the yellow card stock is adhered to the<i> inside</i> of the front of the card. Cool, right?!? Here's a closer look at the stamped sentiment:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggOw8L2aHjIOEcvI4qTRwSztC6t_UdapN6KERf5MkyiMLLQM7f5vsNZFNgh0Fx7QdC7_3sleEtXGRLBe864rmuS2WiLTfk1T_dBwOUPeq4N1CO0P-uO3EdYopDjZK57ydOeK6vCZPGdOs/s1600/hb+sentiment.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="364" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggOw8L2aHjIOEcvI4qTRwSztC6t_UdapN6KERf5MkyiMLLQM7f5vsNZFNgh0Fx7QdC7_3sleEtXGRLBe864rmuS2WiLTfk1T_dBwOUPeq4N1CO0P-uO3EdYopDjZK57ydOeK6vCZPGdOs/s640/hb+sentiment.JPG" width="540" /></a></div>
<br />
Above the large glittery chipboard letters, I applied some star cardstock stickers, then applied some Stickles to bring in some more glitter. Here's another view:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Have you ever made a card for a challenge or for your stash, only to realize that the sentiment you've chosen is exactly the one <i>you</i> needed to hear? That's exactly the case with this paper yummy:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJhguFvzTMhYOfg9Ed6Malyzy9Cv31B8ukbdNk44Z8KZAf9R5j1MnY1tByJc71jv9Nsnr8g2tNklDFU4hGsqQR3RCheB96g1m2QJBoCvtrfGnybp8FgL5b_VWJEplNugOcw_cs6Tmq8UY/s1600/breathe.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJhguFvzTMhYOfg9Ed6Malyzy9Cv31B8ukbdNk44Z8KZAf9R5j1MnY1tByJc71jv9Nsnr8g2tNklDFU4hGsqQR3RCheB96g1m2QJBoCvtrfGnybp8FgL5b_VWJEplNugOcw_cs6Tmq8UY/s640/breathe.JPG" width="504" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I stamped the "it will be ok" sentiment in Versamark ink on each color of cardstock, then embossed the "breathe" in white to make it pop. I added some little bling down the right side, and rounded two opposite corners of the card base. Here's a close-up:

<br />
So since it is March, I chose to make a card to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, and I knew the perfect stamps to use to make the background for this paper yummy:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik9uAZ9DeUCNpT4jb4KnwU40ZrfzmCp39oEaEyNgyYR9kSCIsvqSYUtdXP5HSbjfNS-JoZ2-blngJI1jvaJ881VlNYGUxYHiCwsQFMbgy76ZudXSvBZQB3uPM8BtUFUUEUp-9foO6Ynr8/s1600/magical+day.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="715" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik9uAZ9DeUCNpT4jb4KnwU40ZrfzmCp39oEaEyNgyYR9kSCIsvqSYUtdXP5HSbjfNS-JoZ2-blngJI1jvaJ881VlNYGUxYHiCwsQFMbgy76ZudXSvBZQB3uPM8BtUFUUEUp-9foO6Ynr8/s640/magical+day.JPG" width="540" /></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For this card, I went straight to the <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/A_Magical_Spring_p/fbs-13-136.htm">A Magical Spring</a> stamp set from Paper Smooches. I knew the shamrock would make the perfect stamped background, and how could I resist that leprechaun?!? I stamped and colored his skin, hat, clover, and shoes on some Copic X-Press Blending card stock, then paper-pieced his clothing and hair with some cute patterned papers. I added some gold Stickles to his buckles and bow tie. I fussy-cut around him, and stood him on the flag-cut sentiment panel. Here's a close-up:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrPDlxS7LlMezlMkoFmbj0yEfhFOAqNcgzAkY_s2l6cPYbcX6nZO0FGz1h_UcsxVEF5JvMtrhbr0Ly5tQj9jeUX4sfJFUCRRm9QEPY829bicl98ow1470EKxzeZYqfsjktUi_x_OMt6rU/s1600/magical+day+leprechaun.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="354" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrPDlxS7LlMezlMkoFmbj0yEfhFOAqNcgzAkY_s2l6cPYbcX6nZO0FGz1h_UcsxVEF5JvMtrhbr0Ly5tQj9jeUX4sfJFUCRRm9QEPY829bicl98ow1470EKxzeZYqfsjktUi_x_OMt6rU/s640/magical+day+leprechaun.JPG" width="540" /></a></div>

I hope everybody had a great week. I sure did! We actually got SNOW here yesterday. IN ARIZONA! Snow! That stuck! I was pretty excited about that, since it really never happens. And speaking of pretty exciting, I'm here today with a new challenge from <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays</a>!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/1340123472/name/cfc91.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="86" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/1340123472/name/cfc91.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">CFC91: Incorporate silver into your clean and simple project</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The sponsor for this week's challenge is<a href="http://www.ribbonsunlimitedinc.com/"> Ribbons Unlimited</a>. This week's winner will receive a wonderful prize from this great new sponsor!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/tn/284766443/name/ribbons_unlimited_blog_badge.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/tn/284766443/name/ribbons_unlimited_blog_badge.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For this week's card, I incorporated silver in the form of a metallic embossing powder. And now for the paper yummies:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEgCgFycvkJ6Tlr5CTgIE52M0-K32dcdxTT5_3oWaRuZlazLcmLJfBYY7O1HmA0zpsGxxp-QBb1OEnDcmQyHQ4IamDp9-KWwITf5jpU894TmxDjJ3bZFpeHJ0depoB9DHKNmeU-DVFJ3w/s1600/just+for+the+record.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="650" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEgCgFycvkJ6Tlr5CTgIE52M0-K32dcdxTT5_3oWaRuZlazLcmLJfBYY7O1HmA0zpsGxxp-QBb1OEnDcmQyHQ4IamDp9-KWwITf5jpU894TmxDjJ3bZFpeHJ0depoB9DHKNmeU-DVFJ3w/s640/just+for+the+record.JPG" width="504" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
So, it's difficult to see in the picture above, the word "AMAZING" is embossed with a silver embossing powder. I stamped the entire sentiment using gray ink, used a VersaMark pen to selectively add embossing ink, then applied and heat-set the embossing powder. All the patterned papers are from the My Mind's Eye School Daze 6x6 pad, and the stamp and talk bubble die are from <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/the-48947/for-the-record-talk/Detail">this Simon Says Stamp set.</a> Here's a close-up, showing the silver embossing:<br />

I hope everybody had a wonderful Valentine's Day! Today I'm here to share a whole lot of exciting things from <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays</a>. Not only is today the release day for 3 awesome new stamp sets, which you can find <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/">here</a>, it is also the day Michele is announcing the super talented new Design Team members <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">here</a>! And of course, it's also the kick-off to this week's challenge!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/2035420197/name/cfc90.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="86" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/2035420197/name/cfc90.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">CFC90: Use black and white plus one other color in your clean and simple project</span></div>
<br />
And the sponsor for this week's challenge is, of course, <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/">CAS-ual Fridays Stamps</a>! The winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to spend <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/">here</a>!<br />
<br />
For this week's challenge, I used the brand-spankin' new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps set called <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/Only-You-CFSS-13-006.htm">Only You</a>. Now for the paper yummies:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKsjk5BywEJA0Y7wqTF4DrCeT3UJCPAdveX9B8QsMFn9jKNast5B3T_fYgxFG9WzUvOjAJXpfr5XFU6wKqpDn3DlRPfiJwagK4Zg5YL-kepX-3Vwxw9LcDkrYijrcMMddxK4X4LJMg6Rw/s1600/more+and+more.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKsjk5BywEJA0Y7wqTF4DrCeT3UJCPAdveX9B8QsMFn9jKNast5B3T_fYgxFG9WzUvOjAJXpfr5XFU6wKqpDn3DlRPfiJwagK4Zg5YL-kepX-3Vwxw9LcDkrYijrcMMddxK4X4LJMg6Rw/s640/more+and+more.JPG" width="532" /></a></div>
The dots, sentiment, and flourish are all from the <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/Only-You-CFSS-13-006.htm">Only You</a> set. I stamped the dots repeatedly to create a background, then stamped the "I love you" and the flourish over the top. I stamped the "more and more each day" onto the <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/the-48988/folded-banner-s116-jennifer/Detail">Folded Banner Die</a> from Simon Says Stamp, and it fit just perfectly. I finished off the card with a little bit o' bling on the flourish. Here is a close-up:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9jCgyEiQ5J5-hJq5gDZ4w_-LYE0LGagBJw5ASw_i4mZxlNjhuuKzoQP3aoRmWanTcpvwvqJHuJn1CQwIf6jCfvswav_Rzxq0Mjce_ZVDB8bNHpA2mJGzp498SYhQo08jcyvBPbctxnHI/s1600/more+and+more+close-up.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="374" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9jCgyEiQ5J5-hJq5gDZ4w_-LYE0LGagBJw5ASw_i4mZxlNjhuuKzoQP3aoRmWanTcpvwvqJHuJn1CQwIf6jCfvswav_Rzxq0Mjce_ZVDB8bNHpA2mJGzp498SYhQo08jcyvBPbctxnHI/s640/more+and+more+close-up.JPG" width="532" /></a></div>

I really hope you'll play along with this week's challenge! You have until next Thursday at noon EST to do so. Thanks so much for looking!<br />

I'm here today to show you a sneak peek of one of the new <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/">CAS-ual Fridays Stamps</a> sets that will be released this month. Three brand new sets will be available <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/">here</a> on February 15th. Woo hoo!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5MqVXDSZ-KTE8evCfAnZDl1esYiGn0I5UdNwfChn4E1u8dBuiP9wsQXEvF2gEbsbYEMgSbZ0MILUT39y324zcysOnCz-OfA03tM81I9Gj6-g8KNjZnWNcWqnP268jwvc-2upuoj0RH2A/s250/CFS+Blog+Button.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5MqVXDSZ-KTE8evCfAnZDl1esYiGn0I5UdNwfChn4E1u8dBuiP9wsQXEvF2gEbsbYEMgSbZ0MILUT39y324zcysOnCz-OfA03tM81I9Gj6-g8KNjZnWNcWqnP268jwvc-2upuoj0RH2A/s250/CFS+Blog+Button.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
The set I'm sneaking is called Beanstalks, and it is so super cute! There are some really lovely sentiments and some great beanstalks that are wonderfully versatile! So without further ado, here is my Beanstalks paper yummy:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2eWH4y1Qije8rHcLU8riRO6slWLYGQ9PlA-MLDmuTgzIKnv9UbB-ZLinSlgEx-yfUCoixajhL875cgPJVhYuiUgQEcVxt0QE86Sy4nODbsZEwVezehEEtgS2zhGNEU0sld4LM1xO1Bh8/s1600/sweet+friend.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2eWH4y1Qije8rHcLU8riRO6slWLYGQ9PlA-MLDmuTgzIKnv9UbB-ZLinSlgEx-yfUCoixajhL875cgPJVhYuiUgQEcVxt0QE86Sy4nODbsZEwVezehEEtgS2zhGNEU0sld4LM1xO1Bh8/s640/sweet+friend.JPG" width="520" /></a></div>
For this card, I combined two of the sentiments from the set, joined by a little hand-drawn comma. Using a little bit of masking, I stamped the words "you" and "friend" in a different color ink to highlight them. Then I stamped one little beanstalk multiple times to create the elements on each side of the sentiment. I had originally planned to color in the leaves to match the red words in the sentiment, but once I stamped the beanstalks, I really liked the way they looked not colored in. Here's a close-up of the sentiment strip and beanstalks:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This week's challenge is sponsored by <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/">CAS-ual Fridays Stamps</a>! The winner will receive a store credit to spend <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/">here</a>!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5MqVXDSZ-KTE8evCfAnZDl1esYiGn0I5UdNwfChn4E1u8dBuiP9wsQXEvF2gEbsbYEMgSbZ0MILUT39y324zcysOnCz-OfA03tM81I9Gj6-g8KNjZnWNcWqnP268jwvc-2upuoj0RH2A/s250/CFS+Blog+Button.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5MqVXDSZ-KTE8evCfAnZDl1esYiGn0I5UdNwfChn4E1u8dBuiP9wsQXEvF2gEbsbYEMgSbZ0MILUT39y324zcysOnCz-OfA03tM81I9Gj6-g8KNjZnWNcWqnP268jwvc-2upuoj0RH2A/s250/CFS+Blog+Button.jpg" /></a></div>
For this challenge, I had so many songs that I wanted to translate into a card, but just didn't have the right stamp or a great idea for the card itself. Then I saw it, just sitting there on my crafting table. The perfect stamp for this paper yummy:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgziVjjEZN5qR9Eqvm3Yzcyzgo2LuBVHJ4ZTOONctw3C5LLsm0VP71PajTaKX7OVN0iO5s9VO5-RaLTPIstUXR1m76_W0lyGFCh7HOCJXWyTdZskawrpdq1O-aJbGJ2ankRHH4cPk-VncQ/s1600/three+litle+birds.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgziVjjEZN5qR9Eqvm3Yzcyzgo2LuBVHJ4ZTOONctw3C5LLsm0VP71PajTaKX7OVN0iO5s9VO5-RaLTPIstUXR1m76_W0lyGFCh7HOCJXWyTdZskawrpdq1O-aJbGJ2ankRHH4cPk-VncQ/s640/three+litle+birds.JPG" width="502" /></a></div>
The three little birds made me think of the Bob Marley song, and I thought the sentiment "don't worry about a thing" would make a perfect card for someone needing some encouragement. I stamped the three little birds and colored them in with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment using alphabet stamps by Hero Arts, then masked the birdies and stamped the Zig Zag background, also by Hero Arts. I added a strip of patterned paper by My Mind's Eye to finish off the card. Here's a close-up of the three little birds:<br />

I hope you all had a wonderful week - I know I did ;) I'm here today with a new challenge from the <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays blog</a>! Woo hoo!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/608097118/name/cfc88.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="86" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/608097118/name/cfc88.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">CFC88: Love Letters</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Use alpha stamps, dies, stickers, etc. on your clean and simple project</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
And the sponsor for this week's challenge is once again the fabulous <a href="http://www.ellenhutson.com/servlet/StoreFront">Ellen Hutson</a>! The winner of this challenge will receive a $25 gift card to spend <a href="http://www.ellenhutson.com/servlet/StoreFront">here</a>!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.ellenhutson.com/images/techBackup042211/storelogo/EHLLCLogo.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.ellenhutson.com/images/techBackup042211/storelogo/EHLLCLogo.png" /></a></div>
So for this week's challenge, I chose to incorporate letters onto my card in a few different ways. Check out this paper yummy:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirU3KepEXg7rCeV_Vo6WHzyfGnY0MZ-JlWih3Un6tIOppShP4Ehytsk4pJqwyd6Dbo0LJnVj4LFWY4PkWL0D0r4wpF5489aE91spzINjzTJjnH77L8unU1wwWSo8dbVfD4jUoYe0sQBCA/s1600/XO.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="540" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirU3KepEXg7rCeV_Vo6WHzyfGnY0MZ-JlWih3Un6tIOppShP4Ehytsk4pJqwyd6Dbo0LJnVj4LFWY4PkWL0D0r4wpF5489aE91spzINjzTJjnH77L8unU1wwWSo8dbVfD4jUoYe0sQBCA/s640/XO.JPG" width="540" /></a></div>
The first (and most subtle way) I added letters to my card was by stamping the heart, which had x's and o's on it already. I stamped it in red ink, cut it out, then colored over it with a red Copic marker. The next way I incorporated text was on my tag. I stamped the tag (from <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/the-49015/Simon-Says-Clear-Stamps/Detail">this stamp set</a>) onto some text patterned paper by Stampin' Up!, then cut out the tag. For the card base, I cut down a piece of self-adhesive cork to be the same size as my card. I "stamped" on the cork using a Cuttlebug folder! Yep, I just applied black ink to the raised side of the embossing folder, then laid my cork face-down onto the inked portion. It worked really well! To finish off the card, I added some glittery stickers (from Making Memories) to the heart. Here's a close-up:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV-ja_1Fkg6PFwRQMmDoXJThvS5-Mru8TEmHy_jsRWOFj7BXS_0wWCJyUmWLlFm2YG5_dgbgHyErzqHHpGWgQ2320Dht087JokHlT5OPlUHiI0VJVzudmcujTE1E4bFE_1KZeGNGBTofk/s1600/XO+close-up.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="432" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV-ja_1Fkg6PFwRQMmDoXJThvS5-Mru8TEmHy_jsRWOFj7BXS_0wWCJyUmWLlFm2YG5_dgbgHyErzqHHpGWgQ2320Dht087JokHlT5OPlUHiI0VJVzudmcujTE1E4bFE_1KZeGNGBTofk/s640/XO+close-up.JPG" width="540" /></a></div>

I hope your week was wonderful! I'm here today with a card that I'm just giddy over, and it's my card for this week's <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays</a> challenge:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/1524928299/name/cfc87.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="86" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/1524928299/name/cfc87.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

And this week's sponsor is <a href="http://www.crafterscompanion.com/">Crafter's Companion</a>, who is offering up an awesome Spectrum Noir markers prize package!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
So for this challenge, I wanted to use one of the cutest stamps (in my opinion) that Paper Smooches makes. I'd never used this particular stamp, but I think it's absolutely PERFECT for a spring time card, and also to send well wishes to a friend who's been going through a rough patch. And now for the paper yummies:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-JGwYcVNtoPkCNdCN0DlMkcgSYsNKAfVNlHCGACH2CwXkQuR5ru6wiC0PmScb3y2ZSiC1O2-2v3OerYoSfOSPb10FC9DTawUP80WeE2KtaQg4LyXUcrzQPQN-7-1zU3raYyM1lTnbwuw/s1600/sunshine,+peace+&+hope.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-JGwYcVNtoPkCNdCN0DlMkcgSYsNKAfVNlHCGACH2CwXkQuR5ru6wiC0PmScb3y2ZSiC1O2-2v3OerYoSfOSPb10FC9DTawUP80WeE2KtaQg4LyXUcrzQPQN-7-1zU3raYyM1lTnbwuw/s640/sunshine,+peace+&+hope.JPG" width="510" /></a></div>
<br />
I stamped the adorable lion and lamb stamp from the <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=eco">Eco-Friendly</a> stamp set on white cardstock, colored it in with Copic markers, and fussy-cut it out. I thought the lion looked so contented, as if the sun was shining down on him and his little lamb buddy. So, on the white cardstock panel, I embossed a square Nestabilities die to create a frame. I masked off the area outside the square, and stamped the sunshine in the upper left corner of the square. With my Copics, I colored in the sunshine, then colored in the rest of the square to create a "sky". I used a stamp from the <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/Needle_Little_Love_p/j1s-13-132.htm">Needle Little Love</a> set to create the stitching around the edges of the frame. The "wishing you sunshine" sentiment is from <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/Eco_Friendly_p/fbs-12-066.htm">Eco-Friendly</a>, and I added the "peace" and "hope" from the <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/Joyful_Greetings_p/ses-12-117.htm">Joyful Greetings</a> set. The big ampersand is from the <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/We_Connect_p/des-12-127.htm">We Connect</a> set, and I stamped it in a shade of ink just slightly darker than the sky background. Here's a close-up:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I'm also playing along with the inaugural <a href="http://musecardclub.blogspot.com/">Muse Card Club</a> challenge. My card was inspired by <a href="http://stamp-n-paradise.blogspot.com/2013/01/muse-guest-designer.html">Amy Kolling</a>'s beautiful card at the <a href="http://musecardclub.blogspot.com/2013/01/muse-challenge-1.html">Muse blog this week</a>. I loved her layout (I just reversed it on my card), the embossed square, and the fresh spring feel.<br />

<br />
So for this week's challenge, I wanted to use the "masculine" new set ("<a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/Rad-CFSS-13-003.htm">Rad</a>") to make a feminine card. When I sneak-peeked this set in <a href="http://paperyummies.blogspot.com/2013/01/cas-ual-fridays-sneak-peak-day-3-rad.html">this post</a>, I used it for a masculine birthday card, but mentioned that you'd see a cute girly card if you stayed tuned. Well here it is, this paper yummy:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAoyo2QZtLfUV6nlAR58EWYMAu2zHKRfsrdBg6xtXhoBFxr0lb7LMkYDGk-MsBlOrFtlV0l8Z07pRtApLAxC5t8VBOz_z5Lq8sn-WyxytT5EProaSD4IS9odSlRVwj2XiO1zpa74hpY0w/s1600/you're+so+sweet.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAoyo2QZtLfUV6nlAR58EWYMAu2zHKRfsrdBg6xtXhoBFxr0lb7LMkYDGk-MsBlOrFtlV0l8Z07pRtApLAxC5t8VBOz_z5Lq8sn-WyxytT5EProaSD4IS9odSlRVwj2XiO1zpa74hpY0w/s640/you're+so+sweet.JPG" width="382" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the adorable cloud die from the Simon Says Stamp <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/the-48949/talk-bubbles-cloud-circle/Detail">Talk Bubbles</a> die set, and die cut the cloud from some tiny chevron patterned paper by Basic Grey. I created my sentiment using two stamps from the <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/Rad-CFSS-13-003.htm">Rad</a> set. I stamped the words in Versamark ink, and embossed using white embossing powder. I LOVE the way these words stamp so crisply, especially the outlined word "sweet". I wasn't sure how well the white embossing would show up against a lighter pattern, but I'm super pleased with how it turned out. This card just makes me happy! I added some felt hearts from American Crafts, and finished off my card with some light pink stitching. Here's a close-up of the cloud speech bubble and hearts:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I had so much fun making this non-traditional-sized card - I actually made two! I hope you'll play along with this week's challenge. You have until next Thursday at noon EST to do so. And if you didn't come here from CAS-ual Fridays, please check out the <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">challenge blog</a> for some super exciting news, including a DT call!<br />

Thanks for looking!Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14767635987620029567noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3623069875071767646.post-17652028603200593472013-01-15T22:01:00.000-07:002013-01-15T22:20:26.593-07:00CAS-ual Fridays Sneak Peak Day 3 - RADHappy Wednesday! Today I'm here to show you a sneak peek of one of the <a href="http://cas-ualfridaysstamps.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays Stamps</a> January release. The set I'm showcasing is called Rad, and it most certainly is! This set is perfect for all the boys in your life, but can also be used to make a really stinkin' cute girl's card (I made one today...stay tuned for that!) Okay, on to the paper yummies:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIVrCx30PW28tqF0uUZ74mxx2csgDkBDPaCY028hw7v5py3Ei49t6On0SDku3texiKcgwN90BMgSCI_pztxLzaD1hNHJaLqP6jrbPYA_AzmoYMCAKheE0V3ecuFXdEyOu94CdFfZXxDbk/s1600/dude.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIVrCx30PW28tqF0uUZ74mxx2csgDkBDPaCY028hw7v5py3Ei49t6On0SDku3texiKcgwN90BMgSCI_pztxLzaD1hNHJaLqP6jrbPYA_AzmoYMCAKheE0V3ecuFXdEyOu94CdFfZXxDbk/s640/dude.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
Michele included a few outlined sentiments in this set (like the word awesome above) that are TO DIE FOR!!! They stamp so crisply and cleanly, I can hardly stand it! With all the different words in this set, you can create a TON of different sentiments. And don't forget about that fun dot border I used along the left side - I sewed over the dashed line that connects them all.<br />
<br />
This set is super fun, and will be available in the <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/">CAS-ual Fridays Stamps store</a> at midnight EST on Friday, January 18th. <div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The product I'm giving you a sneaky peek of is one of Kim's new dies, Prickly Bloom. I've used it to create these paper yummies:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA45lqkEQFdPj8wX9YfQaHU92s-WZf35Rh7JGXFBiABKCJ_YexLhAvdGnDmbeR6aZO3_Lc_qf1-mRtCZWAVoJtPmcYqBkCkx9uMtNo3kIKm-GThwderdUUJ1BMIEp73T3D-md0YZfOIVE/s1600/DSC_0069.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="585" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA45lqkEQFdPj8wX9YfQaHU92s-WZf35Rh7JGXFBiABKCJ_YexLhAvdGnDmbeR6aZO3_Lc_qf1-mRtCZWAVoJtPmcYqBkCkx9uMtNo3kIKm-GThwderdUUJ1BMIEp73T3D-md0YZfOIVE/s640/DSC_0069.JPG" width="580" /></span></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The large flower shape is the Prickly Bloom die. I cut it from some fun polka-dot paper, then added some stamped stitching from the <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/Santa_Paws_p/j3s-11-026.htm">Santa Paws</a> stamp set. For the stem, I used the clothesline from the <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/Pip_Squeaks_p/j2s-12-103.htm">Pip Squeaks</a> set (which is also where the little heart is from), and the leaves are from <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/Daisies_Paisleys_p/a2s-12-110.htm">Daisies & Paisleys</a>. The sentiment is from <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/Flap_Happy_p/des-12-126.htm">Flap Happy</a>. I stitched around the edges of a Ranger kraft tag, then added the stamping and die cut. Here are some other views:</span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I also made a second card using the Prickly Bloom die:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnu33bshS-Sv4KpRp9rqEfMaRAwh4YeTItFtkV2OyMpxAi3-rvYarH17mmH0-Z4ShC3KtKMgoikMZaUyhFa_EjrRjCUdO67t5Bvzk05bX3av_reIY3P-64hsqjozTTN575MUUkjOcCdKg/s1600/DSC_0075.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnu33bshS-Sv4KpRp9rqEfMaRAwh4YeTItFtkV2OyMpxAi3-rvYarH17mmH0-Z4ShC3KtKMgoikMZaUyhFa_EjrRjCUdO67t5Bvzk05bX3av_reIY3P-64hsqjozTTN575MUUkjOcCdKg/s640/DSC_0075.JPG" width="580" /></span></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">On this card, I wanted to use the die cut as a stand-alone focal point, without the stem and leaves. Again, I die-cut it from some patterned paper, but then used Copic markers to add some shading. Then I scored each "petal" from the tip to the center and folded them upward. I stamped and fussy-cut a butterfly from the <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/Flap_Happy_p/des-12-126.htm">Flap Happy</a> stamp set for the center of the Prickly Bloom. I created the sentiment using the <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/We_Connect_p/des-12-127.htm">We Connect</a> set, and stamped it in white ink. I also created the stamped scalloped edge using a solid circle stamp from <a href="http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/Hullabaloo_p/ses-12-116.htm">Hullabaloo</a>. Here are some other views of this sweet card:</span></div>

I hope everybody had a great week. Today I'm going riking with a friend of mine. Don't know what that is? Oh, that's probably because it's a word I made up. It's hiking, but we run when we can. Last time we went, we did a 14.5 mile trail. Today, we were going to do a 21.5 miler, but a cold snap is coming through (which is supposed to be the longest one we've had since 1971!!), so we've decided to do a 7.5 miler instead. Hope we don't freeze to death!!! Anyway, today I'm also bringing you this week's challenge from <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays</a>! Woo hoo!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/430961038/name/cfc85.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="87" src="http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/80650828/sn/430961038/name/cfc85.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">CFC85: Round of applause</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Create a clean and simple card that celebrates an accomplishment and features at least one circle</span></div>
<br />
And the sponsor for this week's challenge is <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/">CAS-ual Fridays Stamps</a>! The winner of this challenge will receive a $20 store credit! And guess what else? There is a new release coming out on January 18th! Check out the <a href="http://cas-ualfridaysstamps.blogspot.com/">stamp blog</a> for sneak peeks January 14-17!<br />
<br />
So, on this card, I gave you a little pre-sneak peek of a new stamp set that's coming out. Can you spot the new stamp on this paper yummy?:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWdy50Kb6_rNo3QHbq1xpoj8AW91Zv2273uOfssD_1EqBeqY8eCDO8RDUlfd5Go4rd5G8CSqMrjEITejWcjm52-4DKf7CvZ-lnFME4b-0Vr8FJqS-By8p3T0xtphP10VzjXnPaqNvSeM0/s1600/awesome+you+did+it.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWdy50Kb6_rNo3QHbq1xpoj8AW91Zv2273uOfssD_1EqBeqY8eCDO8RDUlfd5Go4rd5G8CSqMrjEITejWcjm52-4DKf7CvZ-lnFME4b-0Vr8FJqS-By8p3T0xtphP10VzjXnPaqNvSeM0/s640/awesome+you+did+it.JPG" width="518" /></a></div>
<br />
I used some Spellbinders Nestabilities dies on this card (the circle and the star). I stamped the sentiment onto the circle, then embossed that cool dotted chevron border (Cuttlebug "Charles") above it. I adhered the circle to the front of the card. I temporarily adhered the star in place to use as a guide. Then, using the same "you did it!" stamp that I used on the circle (from the <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/searchquick-submit.sc?keywords=woot">Woot Woot</a> set), I stamped repeatedly around the circle by curving the stamp on my acrylic block to match the curve of the circle.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYtB-MtC903FpljuPPCWWdOY65Q_ZWJZeygvM9FSLg9aQMaLUl4Vc6DdLot9czsXnO-8-DqI8hL4SVY5UhB6A9ltMiLuPeYLBVwBS_75tHNfoWixl4ZIw7o6-jcqqV2sbFtq6_Ac82-ck/s1600/DSC_0068-002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="356" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYtB-MtC903FpljuPPCWWdOY65Q_ZWJZeygvM9FSLg9aQMaLUl4Vc6DdLot9czsXnO-8-DqI8hL4SVY5UhB6A9ltMiLuPeYLBVwBS_75tHNfoWixl4ZIw7o6-jcqqV2sbFtq6_Ac82-ck/s640/DSC_0068-002.JPG" width="518" /></a></div>
<br />
To create the star, I cut a bunch of 1/8" strips of white cardstock. I wanted to make sure the rainbow colors on the star matched the inks I was going to be using in the sentiment, so I colored each strip of cardstock using a direct ink-to-paper approach. Then I place my star die on a separate piece of cardstock and traced around it. I covered the area inside the tracing with double-sided adhesive, then adhered the colored strips diagonally until the traced outline of the star was completely covered. Then I die cut that area using the same star die. I applied some diamond Stickles around the edges of the star, and adhered it using dimensional adhesive. Here's another view of the sentiment, embossing, and glittery rainbow star:<br />

Hello, and happy Friday! I'm back with this week's<a href="http://www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com/"> CAS-ual Fridays</a> challenge, and I think you'll really find this to be quite a timely challenge: </div>

<br />
For this card, I wanted to paper-piece the butterfly and have a layer whose wings I could pop up. So I stamped the butterfly image 3 times: once on the background (where the blue and gray papers meet), and twice on the yellow patterned paper. I fussy-cut the two yellow patterned butterflies, then adhered one of them flat onto the background. With the second yellow butterfly, I placed adhesive only on the "body", not the wings. I adhered the body of the second on top of the first, then folded the wings upward.<br />
<br />
I lightly penciled in a "trail", then machine-stitched over the top with yellow thread:<br />

<br />
I added some bling to the butterfly body, and along the trail down to the sentiment:<br />

I hope everybody's Christmas was as awesome as mine! My family traveled to Oklahoma to spend Christmas and New Year's with my brother, his wife, and their ADORABLE baby. She is just too stinkin' cute!!! I just wished they lived closer so I could see her more than just at Christmas. But we did have a white Christmas, and even more snow yesterday, so this Arizona girl is having a great time! We'll be here through New Year's Day. And speaking of the new year, I have a card to share with you using the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/Countdown-CFSS-12-009.htm">Countdown</a> set. Michele featured this card on the <a href="http://cas-ualfridaysstamps.blogspot.com/">CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog</a> today. Now for the paper yummies:<br />

<br />
I decided to make a shaped card using the <a href="http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=125598">Labels Collection Framelits Dies</a> from Stampin' Up!. I used one of the larger dies to create the card, then used a smaller die to create a mask and apply the pink ink. Then I stamped the border from the <a href="http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/Countdown-CFSS-12-009.htm">Countdown</a> set across the middle of the card. After that, I used my embossing buddy across the front of the card, then stamped and embossed the sentiment. I used Copic markers to color in parts of the border stamp, then added some embroidery floss. Another single-layer card! What's gotten into me lately?<br />
<br />
Well, I wish everyone the happiest of new years! Thanks so much for looking!<br />
