Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge - One of a kind

Happy Monday to all!  Today I have a card for the weekly challenge at the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge blogEven though I'm in group 2 of the design team (weeks 2 and 4 of the month), I still created a card for today's challenge. It will be linked up to the challenge gallery rather than in the blog post itself.  Being that this is the third week of the month, the challenge is this:

Yep, it's a color challenge! And the colors for this month are super yummy:

Fun, right?  I know these colors are "Candylicious", but my card doesn't have anything to do with candy.  And I don't know how these colors appear on your screen, but the color in the upper right kinda messed with me a little.  On one computer, it looked a little lime-y green, but on my laptop it looks yellow.  And since my laptop is the one I use while I'm crafting, I went with yellow. Ok, now for the paper yummies:

I used the giraffe from the Zoo Crew set and a sentiment from Word Salad, only I changed the configuration of the words in the sentiment a little.  I colored in the giraffe using Prismacolor markers that match the papers, and paper-pieced him onto the orange patterned paper.  I added Glossy Accents to his eye and "horns":

I added some twine and a cute little button, and finished off the card with some machine stitching:

I used a super cute sketch from Retro Sketches from last month:

I hope you will play along with this challenge.  For each challenge, there will be a PS PRO. This PS PRO will receive a banner for their blog and a $30 credit to the Paper Smooches store.  You have until Sunday, May 27 at 11:59 PM EST to play along.

Paper Smooches Cardstock Contest - Wish Big

Hi again!  I'm back with my second card for the Paper Smooches Cardstock Contest.  To see my first card, click here.  The challenge is to make a project using only cardstock - no patterned paper.  I love me some patterned paper, so this was definitely a challenge for me.  But I came up with a couple of pretty cute cards, if I may say so myself :)  Here is my second paper yummy:
I used a few stamp sets to create this card, including the adorable new Alfresco set.  But instead of stamping the hamburger "as is", I decided to do a bit of masking and stamp the patty/cheese over and over again, to create a giant burger.  If you were that cute lil' ant, wouldn't you wish for a burger that size?  LOL :)

I thought it would look cute to have a toothpick sticking out of the burger, so I decided to put my sentiment flag on the toothpick.  I stamped some subtle tone-on-tone polka dots, then created a sentiment from the Alphadot set:
Since there was no patterned paper allowed, I created the "tablecloth" using the gingham stamp from the Debonair set.  I had so much fun creating this card.  The hardest part was trying to determine what color markers I should blend to create a good hamburger patty color.  I guess you just can't find a good meat-colored marker anymore.  What's the world coming to?

I used this sketch from Retro Sketches:
That long narrow strip is what actually inspired me to make a giant stacked 8-patty-8-cheese burger.  I'm also playing along here:

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! I hope everybody is having a safe and blessed holiday, however you're spending it. I'm back with another card for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge:
CFC47: Let the Hunt Begin! Clean And Simple projects featuring something you'd find in an Easter Basket

I used this sketch from Retro Sketches:
I again used stamps that had never previously been inked. I just love these cute lil' eggs! The grouping of eggs is a single stamp by American Crafts, and they just begged to be paper-pieced. I thought I would try something new (for me, at least). I stamped the eggs on white cardstock, then used a square die that was slightly smaller than the stamped image, so that when I paper-pieced them, the eggs hang off the die cut just slightly. I think it's a pretty cute effect. Now for the paper yummies:

I embossed the kraft cardstock background with this cutie patootie polka dot embossing folder from Provocraft. I'm such a sucker for a polka dot. Add in some cute eggs? Yes, please! I stamped the sentiment (by Hampton Art) onto some green dot paper, and added a pink gingham ribbon. Here's a close-up:

Thanks for looking! Stay tuned this week... I MAY have a bit of exciting news to share! Tiny squeal!
